Azzoun Municipality Participates in Training Program for Elected Local Authorities

Azzoun Municipality, represented by Deputy Mayor Riyad Tabib and Municipal Council members Laila Khaled and Nawal Adwan, participated today, Sunday, August 30, 2026, in the launch of the training program for elected local authorities for the 2026-2030 term. The program was organized by the Ministry of Local Government for the northern governorates, with the participation of local authorities from the governorates of Nablus, Qalqilya, and Salfit.

This participation stems from Azzoun Municipality's commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its council members and familiarizing them with administrative, financial, and technical laws, regulations, and procedures. This will contribute to developing municipal work and improving the level of services provided to citizens.

During the meeting, Minister of Local Government Dr. Sami Hijjawi emphasized the Ministry's pride in the exemplary models of local authorities and their ability to address crises and challenges by prioritizing needs, strengthening communication with the local community and various institutions, and seeking innovative solutions to ensure the continuity of essential services despite difficult circumstances and limited resources. The program also addressed several important topics, most notably improving financial management, diversifying revenue streams, enhancing decentralization, digital transformation, developing partnerships, and raising the efficiency of local authorities. A dialogue session entitled "Visions and Experiences Towards a Better Future for Local Authorities" was also held.

The Azzoun Municipality emphasizes the importance of these training programs in developing the performance of the municipal council and enhancing expertise and capabilities, in line with the aspirations of the residents of Azzoun for more efficient, transparent, and responsive governance.
