A delegation from the Azzoun Municipality and neighboring councils met with Minister Ayman Qandil to discuss reopening the town's entrances and operating the Omar Al-Qasim Hospital.

As part of the ongoing efforts of the Azzoun Municipality, in cooperation with local councils and community leaders in the region, to highlight the suffering of residents in Azzun and neighboring towns due to the closures at the town's entrances, an important meeting was held today in Ramallah. The meeting brought together His Excellency Minister Ayman Qandil, Head of the General Authority for Civil Affairs, and a joint official delegation comprising the mayor and members of the Azzoun Municipality, as well as the heads of the municipal councils of Kafr Thulth, Asla, Sir, and Jayyous.

The meeting addressed several vital issues affecting the daily lives of citizens, most importantly the need to reopen the entrances to Azzoun and neighboring towns, in addition to the crucial matter of operating the Omar Al-Qasim Hospital, given its significant role in enhancing healthcare services for the region's residents. During the meeting, the daily suffering of citizens due to the closure of the entrances to Azzoun was reviewed, along with the resulting economic, educational, social, and humanitarian repercussions. These measures have created significant difficulties for the movement of citizens, students, patients, and business owners in Azzun and neighboring towns.

The delegation also emphasized the importance of expediting the necessary procedures to operate the Omar Al-Qasim Hospital, thereby improving the level of medical services and alleviating the burden on citizens. They stressed the need to follow up on this matter and work towards its completion as soon as possible.

For his part, Minister Ayman Qandil affirmed that the General Authority for Civil Affairs is closely monitoring these issues and will continue its communication and efforts with relevant parties to work towards opening the entrances to the town and neighboring towns, alleviating the suffering of citizens. He also emphasized the importance of following up on the Omar Al-Qasim Hospital project and completing the necessary procedures to bring it into service, stressing that serving citizens and facilitating their daily lives is a top priority for the Authority.
