The Governor of Qalqilya visits the municipality of Azzun to discuss service issues, elections, and hospital development.
Governor of Qalqilya Governorate, Major General Hussam Abu Hamda, paid an official visit to Azzun Municipality, where he met with Mayor Ahmed Hussein, members of the municipal council, and staff, in the presence of the Director General of Planning and Development in the Governorate, Saed Muwafi. This visit was part of ongoing efforts to address the town's vital needs and strengthen communication with local authorities.
The mayor began the meeting by welcoming the governor and his accompanying delegation, emphasizing Azzun's pride in the visit and expressing appreciation for the governor's continued efforts in serving the governorate and its villages.
For his part, the governor stressed the strategic importance of Azzun within the governorate, noting that the visit aimed to follow up on important issues affecting the daily lives of citizens. Regarding the upcoming elections, the governor emphasized the necessity of full adherence to applicable regulations and laws, and compliance with national charters and treaties to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the democratic process.
In the context of educational and service-related matters, the governor's support for the establishment of a new school in the western part of the town to meet the needs of the growing population was discussed. Regarding the health sector, the governor reviewed the latest developments concerning Azzun Hospital, emphasizing that the governorate is exerting every effort and maintaining close communication with the Ministry of Health to ensure its continued operation and the provision of necessary medical services to citizens.
The governor also addressed the issue of the Israeli occupation's closures of the town's entrances, particularly the northern gate, stressing the ongoing efforts, in continuous coordination with the Civil and Military Liaison Directorate, to follow up on this matter and alleviate the suffering of the residents.
The meeting also included extensive discussions on the challenges facing the town's transportation hub and ways to resolve its outstanding problems. In addition, several joint files and unresolved issues between the towns of Azzun and Asla were discussed, with the aim of reaching solutions that serve the public interest and enhance stability and cooperation between the neighboring towns.
